This is ONE OF 2 responses to Vol 15 Drury 5 ("Oh, Dear")...
I have a couple of confessions to make:
That word Drury used (what was it, anyway?) was NOT misspelled. The spelling she used IS considered to be rare or obsolete (or both, I'm too lazy to check). And while I never did say she spelled the word wrong, several of you seemed to get that mistaken impression.
In any case, the generally accepted protocol in communications like these is that spelling and grammatical inconsistencies are politely ignored. The idea is that entering notes should be as simple and painless a process as possible. The moderator should be severely chastising people who get out of line on this - or other - policies. John isn't doing his job!
Anyway, MY new policy is to only point out John's grammatical and spelling idiocyncrasies; I'll leave the rest of you alone.
Don't hold me strictly to this.
I do like the idea of on-line spelling checkers such as Thunder.
