SyQuest drives are used a great deal, in the desktop publishing industry. That is when they deal with color images. When I was running the service department here, I had occasion to look at over a dozen SyQuest drives that needed to be worked on. The people that use them on a daily basis, either love or hate them, and their preference is usualy linked to the number of problems that they have had.

It seems that the technology being used has not fully matured.

Although I do not want to scare you away from the drive, you must keep in mind that if the drive needs to be repaired, you will be unable to access your data until it returns, unless you have a spare drive or access to one. One thing you must not do is buy one of the dual drive models, as they do have problems. (if one goes out the entire unit needs to be sent in, thus leaving you withought a drive)
