Although I have yet to meet Yumi in person, I feel as if she and I are already remarkably close friends. Ever since that first night when Drury prodded her into calling me, Yumi and I have become rabid phone buddies, often talking far into the night (much to the delight of AT&T).
Until now, I was (just barely) the youngest member of Archipelago. But at age 23, Yumi blows me right out of the water. Thus she brings a remarkably fresh and much needed perspective to Archipelago. Her youth, her gender, and her heritage all greatly enhance the diversity I've tried to cultivate here.
I believe you will all discover, however, that Yumi is wise beyond her years. You will also learn that she is always laughing, even through some very tough times. I think her opening salvo of voice cards was superb and I can hardly wait to see what she will come up with next time!
