Impatience is one of the national faults of Americans. But I think that a greater fault is a demand for simple solutions to complex problems.

Most Americans believed that by bringing a third world country to its knees by the military might of thirty nations would solve the problems in both Iraq and Kuwait. Now that we know that isn't so, we are not so enamoured with what went on in the Gulf War. In the real world, you just can't solve complex problems in a short time like they do on TV shows and in the movies.
