First let me say that I was very flattered when Drury asked me to become a part of this interesting little group. I only hope that my contributions will be of some value to the rest of you.
I feel that I have an unfair advantage over the rest of the members of Archipelago. I have been able to read all of the cards you have written over the years, and I feel that I know a little bit about each of you. It is quite an impressive stack of cards! I am still trying plow through all of the cards.
I work with Drury at the California Avian Labs. My official title is Lab Tech/ Information Mgr. but please don't ask me exactly what I do because as I am sure Drury has mentioned, our boss can never quite make up his mind. My job description is ever changing. Drury does not exaggerate when she describes work. Everyone we work with is in danger of burning out. At least I can say my job is never boring.
I hope that everyone has a nice spring and I look forward to the next issue of Archipelago. Hopefully next time I will be able to contribute more since I now have the hang of things. Some minor technical difficulties set me back a little. See you next month.
