Hairy Potatoes

According to Associated Press, a scientist at the international Potato Center in Lima, Peru has developed a hairy potato that protects itself from insect pests. The potato has sticky hair that traps and kills small insects and poisons larger ones. It is supposed to taste just like a regular potato and will be good for the environment because of better harvest and less need to use insecticides. (The article didn't say if you have to wear gloves when you peal it.)

Another way to allow humans to get by with higher population levels!
