Intersession Contributions

Voice Card  -  Volume 3  -  John Card Number 20  -  Thu, Dec 22, 1988 10:13 AM

This is a response to volume 3, Holly Card Number 4 ("Archipelago Experience")...

Holly:

You can indeed enter some kinds of contributions between sessions (or under an Archipelago moon, as you put it.)

For example, you can enter a new book review (or two or three!) between sessions. Then, AFTER the next packet arrives, go back to the Book Review stack and push the CONTRIBUTE button. That will automatically transfer copies of your new reviews into the transit stack. The Island Quiz and HPL stacks also have Contribute buttons.

The only thing you SHOULDN'T do is try to TRANSMIT contributions between sessions. Wait for the new (empty) transit stack to arrive and THEN trasmit your contributions.

I am glad to hear you are keeping an Archipelago notebook; I'd like to know more about it. The reason is that I'm thinking of creating some kind of stack version of such a notebook so that members could enter little snippets and ideas between sessions and then add them to new voice cards at the push of a button. What would YOU want such a stack to do?
