Halloween in Ohio is a big affair, I have found. After receiving a total of perhaps six little Tricker Treaters since 1973, you can imagine my surprise with being deluged with scores and scores of little spooky creepy kids within the first ten minutes.
And the parents get dressed up, too. Our neighbor from across the street came to our house with bright orange hair, polka dotted boxers and size 20 shoes. Some families even have sounds effects blaring from their houses, and they rig up witches and ghouls flying across their lawns. Our candy stocks were getting low by 8:00 but we managed to hold out. And our car didn't get pelted with eggs nor our lawn teepeed.
All and all a pretty good Halloween.
