Voice Card  -  Volume 4  -  John Card Number 18  -  Thu, Jan 26, 1989 3:23 PM

This is a response to volume 4, Robert Card Number 2 ("John Response Time")...

I appreciate the fact that most of you out there in the real world are weighed down by mundane tasks that make it difficult to fill those transit stacks. Even here at Canyon Creek there are endless distractions. That, as they say, is life.

But, like Thoreau, I am forever at war with these mundane tasks, these time bandits! Simplify! Simplify! Simplify! We cannot let these things consume our lives! These unmade beds! These unpaid bills! Away with them! Sell your furniture! Eat rice and water! Spend your precious time where it will count! With your friends! With Archipelago!

Anyway, I am genuinely grateful (and somewhat astonished) that all of you are staying up late and grinding out those voice cards. You will not regret it, I think, when you look back!
